Welcome to the Trauma Chats podcast with me, MacKenzie Mae! I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse striving to create a safe space and community for other survivors and allies of survivors to be inspired, empowered, and educated on sexual trauma and its impacts. Throughout my abuse and after it ended, I often felt alone, ashamed to speak of it, and hopeless of having a fulfilling, peaceful life. Throughout years of therapy, self-reflection, love and growth, I’ve come to a spot in my healing journey that has me eager to help others who were in the same mind space as I was in for so long. If you are a fellow survivor and looking for someone to relate to, to feel less alone, and instill hope in you after experiencing sexual trauma, this podcast is for you. This podcast is also for loved ones of survivors or those seeking to learn more about sexual trauma, its impacts, how to prevent it, and how to support survivors. Through these episodes, I will be offering my personal experiences, my learnings from years of individual and group therapies, and countless hours online and in books searching for hope and understanding. From what I wish I knew before the abuse, how I felt and handled myself throughout the abuse, and the impact it’s had on my life since it ended. I seek to empower others to be educated on the topic to learn how to prevent it, how to respond to it, and how to heal if it happens to occur. If you’re on your own healing journey or alongside someone on theirs, subscribe to this podcast and join me as I chat about the trauma I endured and the lessons I’ve learned to help us all on our collective healing journey!
